- 01 Open Press F4 or ⌥Space. Prefer another shortcut? Record it. You can also open KidoX from a hot corner, the menu‑bar icon, or the Dock.
- 02 Type Search the grid in place. No fuzzy guesses, no web results, no second window.
- 03 Launch Press Return for the selected match, or click any app. KidoX gets out of the way before the app opens.
- 04 Navigate Use arrow keys to move selection. ⌘ plus left or right arrow flips pages.
- 05 Arrange Drag apps across pages, reorder them, drop one app onto another to make a folder, and rename folders when needed.
- 06 Place Found it in search? Drag the result straight back onto the page you came from. It lands where you drop it.
- 07 Dock Drag any app from the grid straight into the Dock. KidoX hands macOS the real .app, so it behaves like Finder.
- 08 Sync KidoX scans the standard Applications folders and watches for changes, so newly installed apps appear without rebuilding your layout.
- 09 Sort Default, by name, recently used, most used, newly added. Recent and most-used views come from your actual launches.
- 10 Hide Tuck away helpers, uninstallers, and apps you never launch. Restore them later from Hidden Apps. Files on disk are never touched.
- 11 Style Use your current wallpaper, a glass layer, solid color presets, custom colors, or your own image.
- 12 Backup Export layout, hidden apps, launch stats, sorting, shortcut, appearance, Dock icon, and custom image. Missing apps skip cleanly.
- 13 Close Esc closes a folder, clears search, or dismisses the panel. Your layout stays where you left it.

Is KidoX a real Launchpad replacement, or just inspired by it?
A real replacement. KidoX restores the full launch-panel experience that Apple removed in macOS 26, with the grid, the search, the pages, and the keyboard ergonomics intact. Then it adds the parts the original always lacked.
Does KidoX touch the apps installed on my Mac?
No. KidoX scans the standard Applications folders and stores its layout and preferences separately. Hiding an app only hides it from KidoX. Uninstall KidoX and your apps and aliases are exactly as you left them.
